Turan-Astana University as a High-Tech Platform for AI Integration: Our Student Ranks Among Winners at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026
Mukhametzhan Agybai, a student at our University, has won the prestigious Medallion for Excellence in the Web Technologies skill at the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 World Championship. Representing Kazakhstan on the global stage, Mukhametzhan demonstrated an exceptional level of proficiency and made a significant contribution to the overall success of the national team.
Held from September 22 to 27, 2026, in Shanghai, China, the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 World Championship became one of the largest events in the history of the global professional community. More than 1,400 young professionals from 70 countries and regions worldwide competed across 64 official skills at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC). The Kazakhstani national team delivered an impressive performance, securing eight awards, including the well-deserved medal earned by our student amidst intense international competition.
The year 2026 has been declared the Year of Artificial Intelligence in Kazakhstan by the Head of State. Our student's achievement at such an elite level confirms that Turan-Astana University stands as one of the country’s leading high-tech platforms, driving the training of a new generation of IT professionals.
Currently, our University’s laboratories and educational tracks are heavily focused on integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, and predictive web analytics, enabling students to develop next-generation intelligent digital products. IT students at TAU learn to implement AI solutions to automate web development, optimize user interfaces, and process big data.
