Educational work
The educational process at the Department of Design, Service and Tourism is aimed at the formation of a harmoniously developed student personality, the development of civic responsibility, spiritual and moral values, professional culture and social activity of students.
During the academic period, cultural, educational, scientific, educational and career guidance events were held with students. The students took part in the opening ceremony of the professional exhibition of the Kazakh artist, visited the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Museum, historical and memorial sites, as well as cultural institutions of the city.
As part of the curatorial work, thematic hours were organized on topical topics, including «Kurmet» - respect for personal time, space and choice of each person. Special attention was paid to the issues of communication culture, academic discipline and social responsibility.
The students took part in an international organizational seminar with the participation of an international expert within the framework of the AI-SANA program, as well as in the scientific and educational seminar «Artificial Intelligence: scientific work, search, selection and systematization of data».
For the purposes of spiritual and cultural education, a literary and poetic event was held dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev and the 95th anniversary of Mukhagali Makatayev.
A special place in educational activities is occupied by the participation of students in the events of the decade of «Nauryznam». Students actively participated in cultural and social projects, the digital video project «Nauryz – joy in every home», trainings and meetings for Shanyrak Day, a charity concert, National Clothing Day, exhibitions of scientific and creative works, the intellectual game «Nauryz Quiz», talent contests «Nauryz Shabyt Fest» and «Zhigit Sultany», and also in attending the theatrical production of «Karagoz».
There is a scientific and creative circle «Motion Design» and a tourist club «Turan Astana», whose activities contribute to the development of research skills, leadership skills, teamwork and practice-oriented training of students.
Students actively participate in intellectual games, creative challenges, social events, Gratitude Day events, as well as in the university's career guidance activities, including holding an «Open Day» for graduates of schools, lyceums, gymnasiums and colleges.
Within the framework of the disciplines, practice-oriented field trips and visits to enterprises in the field of tourism, service and restaurant business are organized.
Educational work contributes to the formation of professional competencies, active citizenship, the development of creative potential and social responsibility of students.
Innovative and Sustainable Solutions in Tourism and Hospitality Design: From Place Branding to Emotional Experience
On November 18, 2025, a scientific seminar was held on the topic:
“Innovative and Sustainable Solutions in the Design of Tourism Facilities and the Restaurant Business: From Place Branding to Emotional Experience.”
As a result of the seminar, a set of recommendations was developed for integrating sustainable and creative approaches into the design of hospitality industry facilities. The seminar also identified перспективы for the development of place branding and ways to enhance the emotional value of the customer experience.
The seminar contributed to expanding the scientific and methodological framework and laid the groundwork for further research in the field of tourism and hospitality design.
