Distant learning innovations at TAU University
In full accordance with paragraph 16 of the Rules for the organization of the educational process on distance learning technologies, approved by order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 137 of March 20, 2015, as amended by order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 259 of June 5, 2019 TAU University introduced the online proctoring technology for the first time in the country's higher education system, which allows for verifying the student’s identity, monitor the student’s behavior during the entire exam and record the whole exam.
The technology is easy to use: students only need to connect a webcam to the computer, each student is given a brief instruction on this technology.
Online proctoring allows for excluding the possibility of falsification during current, mid-term and finals: using additional sources of information, cheating, replacing the student who passes the exam with a better prepared person, etc., which are in violation of the student’s Code of Academic Honesty.
During the fall finals of the 2019-2020 academic year, online proctoring technology is being successfully tested.
