The Department of Design, Service and Tourism actively involves employers in the development of educational programs

On January 26, 2023, within the walls of Turan-Astana University, the Department of  Design, Service and Tourism organized and held a round table, which discussed educational programs in the direction of training "Design", "Decorative art and ethnic design", "Tourism" and "Restaurant and hotel business.

The participants of the round table were the main stakeholders interested in training specialists in the field of tourism, restaurant, hotel business and design activities. So from among the employers there were the leaders of the Center for Children and Youth Tourism - Abenov M.G., IE "Akhan" - Aituarov E.S., the travel company "Talisman Travel Company" - Kabzhanova T., LLP "RA Inc" - Amirbekova A.A., IE "DizArch" - Batirbekova N.U., LLP "TasPlus" - Abdygalieva A.T. of the travel company "Fantasy Tours" - Mamaeva R.N., employee of the hotel "ONE hotel Astana" - Bekin B.E., Head of the Department of Tourism of the Center for Children and Youth Tourism - Kenzhegaliev A.A. It should be noted that students and teaching staff of the department also took an active part in the discussion of educational programs.

Potential employers, while discussing the presented programs, identified the main characteristics that they would like to see in modern graduates and recommended that such disciplines as “Psychology of Sales and Promotion”, “Instructing Activities”, “Sales Technology”, “Automation of Hotel Enterprises” be included in the EP. For the OP "Design" they offered a number of courses related to the use of digital programs.

In general, the discussion of educational programs made it possible to determine the main priorities for training personnel in the field of tourism, hotel and restaurant business, as well as design. The involvement of stakeholders interested in the implementation of the EP in the process of developing programs made it possible to identify both the main preferences of employers and to assess the expectations of students.
