Department of Business Administration educational and methodological work

The educational programs of the department of business administration are implemented in accordance with the state mandatory standards of higher and postgraduate education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as other regulatory legal acts in the field of education, core curricula, development plans of educational programs, graduate models, information packages, and course catalogs.
Such a systematic approach ensures a high quality of specialist training and their compliance with modern labor market requirements.
In developing and implementing educational programs, the department is guided by program development plans, the provisions of the national qualifications framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan, sectoral qualifications frameworks, and current professional standards approved by authorized state bodies and the national chamber of entrepreneurs “Atameken.”
Educational programs are aimed at training specialists in economics and finance, accounting and auditing, management, marketing, as well as public and municipal administration. Learning outcomes, competencies, and course content are aligned with professional standards and correlated with the corresponding levels of the NQF/SQF, ensuring transparency of qualifications and their recognition in the labor market.
The formation and updating of educational programs are carried out taking into account employer requirements, recommendations of professional associations, and analysis of trends in economic sectors. The department ensures regular revision of program content in accordance with changes in the regulatory framework of the Republic of Kazakhstan and updates to professional standards.
An important element of quality assurance is continuous monitoring and periodic evaluation of educational programs in accordance with the university’s internal quality standards and accreditation agency requirements. The results are used to make timely adjustments to program content.
Employers actively participate in the development and discussion of syllabi alongside faculty and students, providing expert opinions and recommendations. This enhances the practical orientation of education and increases graduates’ competitiveness.
Faculty members actively implement modern educational technologies and teaching methods, including flipped classroom, case studies, project-based learning, discussions, and business games. These approaches help develop analytical thinking, managerial decision-making skills, and teamwork abilities. Significant attention is also paid to the use of information technologies, including video lectures in kazakh and russian.
The practice-oriented nature of training is ensured through close cooperation with employers, expansion of partnerships, and organization of internships in public and private organizations in accordance with current regulations. In many cases, internships become the basis for subsequent employment. All faculty members regularly undergo professional development training, confirming their high professional level.
These principles are reflected in various events held during the department of business administration week, which took place on November 14, 2025, at Turan-Astana University. The events were aimed at deepening students’ knowledge, developing professional competencies, and improving financial literacy.
The opening of the week was dedicated to the national currency day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and included participation of faculty, students, and invited experts. Discussions covered the development of the national financial system, the role of the national currency, and modern economic processes.
Practice-oriented activities occupied an important place in the program. A meeting with a financial consultant on financial literacy was organized. Intellectual games such as “Qaryzsyz Qogam” and “IQ FINANCE” enabled students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
The scientific and educational component included a seminar on support tools for small and medium-sized businesses in Kazakhstan. Participants learned about government programs and financing mechanisms.
Career guidance activities are also emphasized. Meetings with school students include presentations of educational programs, campus tours, and intellectual games aimed at developing economic thinking. Students also visited the museum of the national bank of Kazakhstan.
On the final day, round tables were held with representatives of the banking sector and leading experts in economics and finance.
Thus, the implementation of educational programs in accordance with regulatory requirements, the national qualifications system, and professional standards, combined with scientific and practical activities, ensures the development of competencies demanded in the modern labor market and contributes to improving the quality of higher education.
