The "TikTok imam" has over 480,000 followers on TikTok and the same number on Instagram. In his accounts, Nurlan describes himself as an "imam, religious scholar, theologian, psychologist." He provides advice on everyday problems to his followers, explaining Islamic principles in a modern and accessible language that is understandable to both young people and older generations of social media users.

Nurlan Asanov also highlighted the importance of preserving spiritual values while following religious commandments.
"We all have access to the internet. Mobile phones steal our precious time. We have become too attached to them. Have you seen the video of a girl crying because she lost her phone? I've seen people who won't mourn their parents as much as they would mourn the loss of an object. We need to change our perspectives and learn to set priorities correctly. I'm not saying we shouldn't use phones, but we shouldn't turn them into our greatest treasure. We should value people and their actions, a kind attitude," believes the religious scholar.
