Astana Prosecutor’s Office Cup: 1st Mock Trial Competition

The 1st Mock Trial Competition for the Cup of the Prosecutor’s Office of Astana was held at Turan-Astana University as part of the “Law and Order” campaign.

Teams from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) and Turan-Astana University took part in this exciting event.

The Judging Panel of the Prosecutor’s Office of Astana included Deputy Prosecutor of Astana D.K. Shüykeybayev, Chief of Staff Zh.S. Pirimbek, Head of Department A.T. Aimaghanova, and renowned actor Artur Tölepov.

The competition included three rounds. In the first round, teams staged mock trials. Turan-Astana presented a case on cybercrime in Kazakh, while ENU conducted a court hearing on euthanasia in Russian. The second round was a creative challenge, and the third — a blitz legal quiz.

Lively debates arose during the trials, with the jury listening to feedback from engaged audience members. The judging panel of the Prosecutor’s Office of Astana evaluated both the legal knowledge and performance skills of participants.

Actor Artur Tölepov praised the students’ dramatic abilities in particular.

By jury decision, Turan-Astana University took first place, led by Professor, PhD in Law, and RAE Academician K.Zh. Kapsalyamov.
