Department of Business Administration educational and methodological work

The educational programs of the department of business administration are implemented in accordance with the state compulsory educational standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan, core curricula, development plans of educational programs, graduate models, as well as information packages and course catalogs.

Such a systematic approach ensures high-quality training of specialists and their compliance with modern labor market requirements.

An important element of ensuring the quality of the educational process is continuous monitoring and periodic evaluation of educational programs. The results of these evaluations are used to make timely adjustments to the content of the programs.

Employers actively participate in the development and discussion of syllabi alongside faculty members and students, providing expert opinions and recommendations. This contributes to strengthening the practical orientation of education and enhancing graduates’ competitiveness.

Faculty members actively implement modern educational technologies and teaching methods, including the flipped classroom, case studies, project-based learning, discussions, and business games. The use of these approaches helps develop students’ analytical thinking, managerial decision-making skills, and ability to work in teams. Considerable attention is also paid to the use of information technologies, including the preparation and use of video lectures in both the state and russian languages.

The practice-oriented nature of training is ensured through close interaction with employers, expansion of partnerships, and organization of internships in public and private organizations. In most cases, internships become the basis for subsequent employment of graduates. All faculty members regularly undergo professional development training, which confirms their high level of professionalism.

These principles of organizing the educational process are reflected in various events held during the department of business administration week, which took place on november 14, 2025, at Turan-Astana University. The set of activities was aimed at deepening students’ knowledge, developing their professional competencies, and improving financial literacy.

The opening of the week was dedicated to the National Currency Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was attended by faculty members, students, and invited experts. Within the framework of the events, issues related to the development of the country’s financial system, the role of the national currency, and modern economic processes were discussed.

Practical-oriented activities occupied an important place in the program of the week. A meeting with a financial consultant dedicated to financial literacy was organized, which aligns with the state policy of improving the financial culture of the population. The intellectual games “Qaryzsyz Qogam” and “IQ FINANCE” allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and develop analytical and teamwork skills.

The scientific and educational component of the week included a seminar devoted to tools for supporting small and medium-sized businesses in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Participants were introduced to state programs and mechanisms for financing entrepreneurship, which contributes to the development of students’ practical competencies in business.

Special attention is paid to career guidance activities. Meetings with school students include presentations of educational programs, university tours, and intellectual games aimed at developing economic thinking. Additionally, students visited the museum of the national bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which helped deepen their knowledge of the country’s financial system development.

On the final day, round table discussions are held with the participation of representatives of the banking sector and well-known experts in the field of economics and finance. These events ensured the integration of theoretical knowledge with professional practical experience.

Thus, the implementation of the educational programs of the department of business administration, combined with scientific and practical activities such as the department week, ensures the development of professional competencies demanded in the modern labor market and contributes to improving the quality of higher education.
