ERASMUS +
TAU University is actively engaged in international grant activities. Every year, TAU University staff submits grant applications jointly with foreign partner universities, including those ranked in the top 100 worldwide. TAU University has significant experience participating in grant programs of the European Union, such as ERASMUS+, TEMPUS, Inwent, FP7, and others. Projects implemented within these programs aim to modernize and internationalize higher education, enhance the quality of scientific research, and create a platform for the development and strengthening of cooperation with partner countries.
General Information
The Erasmus+ program was launched by the European Commission in 2014. The program encompasses education, youth policy, sports, and other fields of activity. Erasmus+ is a powerful tool for promoting education, culture, and youth initiatives in various countries. It contributes to the development of skills and the creation of a more open and global educational and youth space. The program's objectives include creating a new quality of cooperation, which involves:
• Using, disseminating, and developing previously achieved results
• Promoting new ideas and engaging new participants from the labor market and civil society
• Creating and developing new forms of cooperation
The program has integrated previously existing programs such as The LifeLong Learning Programme, The Youth in Action program, The Erasmus Mundus Programme, Alfa, Edulink, Tempus, and others.
Within the framework of higher education cooperation in Erasmus+, the following main directions have been identified:
Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals - providing new mobility opportunities for students and staff
Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and good practice - fostering cooperation for the development of university potential and the exchange of best practices
Additionally, there are Jean Monnet Activities, which offer extensive opportunities for the development of European studies within the Jean Monnet sub-program.
Geography
Compared to previous EU education programs, the geographical scope of Erasmus+ has significantly expanded. Erasmus+ covers "Programme Countries," including:
• European Union member states
• Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia, Turkey
It also includes "Partner Countries," divided into 13 geographical regions:
Region 1: Western Balkans
Region 2: Eastern Partnership countries
Region 3: Southern Mediterranean countries
Region 4: Republic of Kazakhstan (territory recognized by international law)
And others, encompassing Central Asia, Latin America, Africa, Caribbean countries, and several other regions.

Management and Coordination
The implementation of the Erasmus+ program is overseen by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) in Brussels. In Program Countries, coordination is carried out by authorized National Agencies and National Contact Points. In Partner Countries, program coordination is managed by National Erasmus+ Offices.
