About Erasmus+
Erasmus+ is a European Union (EU) programme supporting education, training, youth, and sport, established in 1987. The Erasmus+ programme for 2021–2027 places a strong emphasis on social inclusion, green and digital transitions, and encouraging youth participation in democratic life. It continues to strengthen cooperation between the EU and countries around the world.
The programme is named after the outstanding Dutch scholar, philosopher, and Renaissance lecturer Erasmus of Rotterdam, who traveled across Europe to teach and study at various universities. At the same time, the word Erasmus is a backronym standing for “European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students.”
Overall objective of the programme
To support, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional, and personal development of people in education, training, youth, and sport in Europe and beyond, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, quality job creation, social cohesion, fostering innovation, strengthening European identity, and promoting active citizenship.
Programme budget for the period 2021–2027 amounts to €26.2 billion, which is twice the budget of the previous programme period (2014–2020).

One of the university’s key partners is Kodolányi János University (Hungary), with which a project in the field of International Credit Mobility (ICM) for 2024–2027 is successfully implemented.
