Artificial Intelligence in the Focus of Science: International Expert Seminar Held at TAU
On April 15, 2026, Turan-Astana University became a global hub for discussing the future of high technology during an international scientific seminar dedicated to the relevance and prospects of artificial intelligence across various fields of knowledge. This large-scale event brought together leading scientists, diplomats, and experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia in a hybrid format, creating a unified digital space for knowledge exchange between the academic community and the technology sector. The seminar’s proceedings clearly demonstrated that artificial intelligence has transcended its origins as a narrow technical topic to become a strategic tool for developing all spheres of modern society.
The discussion opened with fundamental reports on the architecture of knowledge, where Professor Urak Aliyev of Lomonosov Moscow State University defined the role of AI within the modern worldview, and Professor Cholpon Koichumanova of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic revealed its potential as a primary lever for contemporary science. The themes of digital diplomacy and geopolitics were further explored in a presentation by Vadim Kozyulin from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MGIMO), who spoke in detail on the transformation of international personnel training through the implementation of advanced AI practices. Simultaneously, Doctor of Political Science Karlygash Nugmanova highlighted the critical importance of ethical standards and legal mechanisms necessary to maintain the balance between innovation and human rights.
Issues regarding the intelligent management of the educational environment were addressed by Samat Smoilov, TAU Vice-Rector for Science and Commercialization, who presented a systemic vision for the legal regulation of technologies. Meanwhile, Anatoly Konev introduced an innovative intelligent system for monitoring student learning outcomes based on median activity analysis. The applied nature of the discussion was reinforced by sectional presentations covering a wide spectrum of fields, from linguistics to ecology. Associate Professor Batjamal Abilova demonstrated the possibilities of modeling educational content for language disciplines, while speaker Aza Evloeva presented a unique "Green Intelligence" concept aimed at synchronizing ecosystem health with nature-based tourism. The industry-specific analysis was complemented by young researchers, including Ilya Makarenko, who analyzed current trends in integrating neural networks within the restaurant and hotel business.
In closing the event, the seminar moderator, Professor R.A. Aikenova, noted that the synergy between the expertise of recognized scholars and the energy of young innovators allows TAU to effectively shape the agenda for tomorrow. Participants reached a consensus that today, the university does not merely discuss technology but actively designs a high-quality environment where artificial intelligence serves humanity while strictly adhering to ethical norms. The seminar further reaffirmed Turan-Astana University's status as a leading intellectual platform for the successful integration of science, technology, and international cooperation.
