Military Department

At Turan-Astana University, the Military Department for our university students is conducted based on the S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University.

To enroll in the Military Department, you need to:

Currently, in Kazakhstan, you can attend the Military Department on a voluntary basis. Enrolling in the Military Department is an opportunity for future enrollment as a reserve military officer. As is known, to be enrolled in the reserves, one needs to complete military service. Graduates of military departments are exempt from this requirement, as military service is only required for those not in the reserves.

How to enroll in the Military Department?

Students studying in full-time programs, up to the age of 27, who are fit for military service according to health conditions, and in certain military-accounting specialties determined by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, can enroll in the Military Department.

Selection for training in the Military Department is carried out through competition and is based on the recruitment plan approved by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and provided to the Military Department annually by March 1.

Selection of students for military training is conducted by a selection commission based on their personal statements submitted to the university director.

The competition for selecting students takes place in four stages:

First stage - passing a medical examination.
Second stage - conducting professional psychological testing.
Third stage - checking physical fitness.
Fourth stage - a commission meeting for selecting students for the Military Department.

The organization of document submission and the completion of the first stage of the competition are managed by the Military Department. The second, third, and fourth stages are carried out by the selection commission. Passing each stage of the competition is allowed only once. An applicant who does not pass a previous stage is not allowed to the next stage.

To undergo a medical examination, the Military Department provides students with completed medical examination cards based on the submitted documents.

An applicant expressing a desire to participate in the competition for the Military Department submits the following documents:

1.Application.
2.Identity card (original and copy).
3.Military registration certificate or military ID (original and copy).
4.2 passport-sized photographs (3x4).
5.Original and copy of one of the documents (if available) confirming the absence of parental care for a child of one or both parents or documents confirming the establishment of guardianship (custody).
6.Documents (if available) confirming the parent's status as a serviceman.
7.Certificate of no criminal record and administrative offenses.
8.Document (if available) confirming sports rank, prize place in the republican or international performer competition of the current year, in the international Olympiad in general education subjects, as well as in the Presidential or republican Olympiad in general education subjects over the past three years.
9.Two transparent files for personal file.
