    The goal of the educational program 6B02301 - "Translation Studies" is to create new ways of training personnel in the field of translation. As well as training someone who is competitive in the modern labor market, competent, responsible, fluent in the profession and able to work in areas close to their activities, having undergone multi-level training. The graduate must always pay due attention to the continuous improvement of professional skills and professional mobility, and have the ability to work at the level of world standards in his specialty.

    In addition, according to the results of the National Rating of Protected Areas, the NGO “Translation Studies” took 8th place, and according to the national rating of the IAAR - 6th place.

    Bachelors in specialty 6B02301 - Translation can perform the following types of professional activities:

     

     

    Translation (written translation of multi-genre texts and documents, interpretation of negotiations, international meetings, conferences);

     

    • Organizational (organization and holding of various kinds of events, creation of professional and public organizations);
    • Production and management (management and/or performance of professional duties (various types of translation) in the relevant departments of domestic, foreign and joint ventures and organizations;
    • Information and analytical (carrying out socio-political analysis, drawing up business correspondence, reports, reviews, situation forecasts, editing translations);
    • Research (collection and processing of practical material, preparation of reports and articles on problems of translation studies and intercultural communication).
    • A graduate of the bachelor's degree in specialty 6B02301 - Translation Studies is prepared to work in the following areas:

    Upon completion, a bachelor’s degree in specialty 6B02301 – “Translation Studies” will know and understand:

    • areas of study formed on the basis of general secondary education, including certain aspects related to the most advanced knowledge in the field of studying translation, the goals of scientific methodology, research and practical methods of professional activity of a translator.
    • patterns of development and functioning of translation as a special form of activity, theoretical principles and methods of translation activity, its basic concepts and categorical structure.

     

    The bachelor must be able to apply knowledge and understanding of:

    • in a way that indicates a professional approach to work or to a profession, and have competencies, usually demonstrated through the formation and substantiation of arguments and solving problems within the field of study, about the paths and stages of the formation of translation science, the crises that predetermined the paradigmatic nature of the development of this science;

     

    The bachelor must form judgments:

    • demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the field of study, including elements of the most advanced knowledge in the field, apply this knowledge and understanding at a professional level, formulate arguments and solve problems in the field of study, collect and interpret information to form judgments taking into account social, ethical and scientific considerations.

    The bachelor must have communication skills:

    • communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to specialists and customers of translation services about problems arising in the translation process, master the culture of thinking, know its general laws, have ability to express one’s thoughts correctly and logically in written and oral form.

     

    The bachelor must have the learning skills or ability to study:

    • have the skills in the field of learning that are necessary to continue learning with a high degree of autonomy, be able to independently acquire new knowledge using modern educational technologies, organize your work on a scientific basis, have all the theoretical and practical skills in the field of professional activity, as well as the ability to to resolve issues provided for within its competence.

     

    Translators are engaged in technical translation, literary translation, oral translation, simultaneous translation, consecutive translation, etc. Simultaneous interpreters immediately translate the speech of a speaker who speaks without stopping. This is the most difficult type of translation. It requires excellent knowledge of languages and general erudition. Consecutive interpreting is simpler: the announcer makes pauses during which the interpreter speaks. This happens, for example, at seminars and business meetings. Interpreters work only online.

A graduate of specialty 6B02301 - Translation Studies must be prepared to perform the following functional duties:

 

• Provide written and oral translations;

• Provide mediation in various types of interlingual and intercultural communication;

• Conduct research in the field of translation studies and philology;
