Educational and methodical work
The teaching and methodological activities of the Department are aimed at ensuring high-quality training in the fields of language communication, philology, and translation studies, in line with modern educational standards and labor market demands.
Currently, the Department delivers 77 courses in Kazakh, Russian, and English. All courses are supported by up-to-date teaching materials and implemented through digital learning technologies.
Innovation in Teaching
The Department actively implements modern educational approaches, including blended learning, digital platforms, and practice-oriented methods.
Special emphasis is placed on translation skills, critical thinking, and intercultural communication, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence in translation practice.
Students actively engage with international online learning platforms. In particular, on Coursera, students have successfully completed over 500 online courses, earning certificates that confirm their academic and professional competencies.
International Cooperation
Internationalization is one of the key priorities of the Department.
Professor Ibrahim Walid from Cairo University was invited to deliver lectures within the “Translation Studies” program.
Practice and Partnerships
The Department actively collaborates with employers and professional organizations. More than 48 memorandums and agreements have been signed.
The Department operates partner branches and internship bases, including educational institutions, translation agencies, and professional associations, enabling students to gain real-world experience.
Employer Engagement
The Department maintains close cooperation with employers in developing and updating academic programs.
As a result:

• new areas such as digital linguistics are introduced
• practical training is strengthened
